A Charli XCX Song Left These Game Show Contestants Hilarious

Students on the UK game show College Challenge aren’t getting any love from Charli XCX fans after hilariously failing to identify one of her songs during a recent episode.

This particular musical series from the long-running game show saw students invited to listen to two song clips – both written by the same artist, but one featuring them performing their own song and another featuring the recording of a different performer of a song they wrote earlier in their career.

In this case, Trinity College students received a clip of Charli XCX’s “Vroom Vroom” followed by Icona Pop’s “I Love It” (which of course was also written by Charli).

The music left the whole team puzzled and fans of the British pop star were appalled at the lack of respect.

“Awkward for @Cambridge_Uni that their smartest students can’t even name this modern masterpiece,” @louis4663 wrote, speaking some hard truths.

People also immediately pointed out that it would have been a gay home run.

Unfortunately, another set of songs that Trinity students didn’t recognize included Kesha’s “Womanizer” and Britney Spears’ “Till the World Ends” (written by Ke$ha).

We apparently need to send a representative from the gay agenda to do some outreach to Gen Z, stat!
