I’m A Celeb: The joke Ant and Dec Boris Johnson will join the castle

Ant and Dec feared putting ITV out of business with their new game show Limitless Win.

The TV hosts, who have won more than 20 National Television Awards, will launch the New Year’s Eve series on Saturday, January 8.

It sees the presenters join the contestants, who answer questions to climb a never-ending money ladder for the chance to win a potentially huge prize. However, if they take their luck too far, they will crumble and lose their winnings.

Despite their enthusiasm for the start of the show, the two men revealed that their main concern was to put ITV aside.

Ant and Dec feared breaking ITV as there is no limit to what the contestant can earn.

“We’ve had sleepless nights before and we were like, ‘Are we going to put ITV out of business?’ because there is no limit to what you can earn,” Ant revealed to The Sun.

“(TV director) Kevin Lygo was sweating when we launched this.

Dec added: “We said, ‘If this happens, can we cancel Tipping Point and The Chase?

“It’s exciting because people could win £5m. But we’re doing well at the moment.”

Ant added: “Luckily we are insured.”

The I’m A Celebrity hosts also revealed they tested the game with each other before signing up.

“We did well, then we got cocky and crashed,” Ant concluded.

Earlier this month, the pair revealed that they had been working on the series for a while and were looking forward to bringing it to fruition.

“We’re really excited to launch this new series. It’s something we’ve been developing with Hello Dolly and ITV for a while now and we can’t wait for you to experience it,” Ant said earlier this year. “We hope you like it as much as we do.”

Dec added: “It’s been several years since we’ve launched a brand new TV format, it’s not something we do very often. But we’ve come up with something groundbreaking and innovative, and that’s why we’re so excited to host this series and bring it to the nation.”

*The primetime entertainment format is created by Hello Dolly and co-produced by Hello Dolly and Miter Studios.
