Final countdown for Janet in the game show Last Singer Standing
Janet Grogan to take part in the Last Singer Standing final this weekend
A singer from TALLAGHT reached the final of RTÉ’s musical game show “Last Singer Standing” this weekend, where she is in contention for the grand prize of € 25,000.
Kingswood’s wife Janet Grogan, 33, is no stranger to performing on television, having previously made it to the Judge’s Houses stage on “The X Factor” in 2016.
But her experience on “Last Singer Standing”, which pits professional singers against each other to reach the finale and features a “pop panel” made up of Samantha Mumba, Nadine Coyle and Joey Fatone of NSYNC, has very little in common with his stint on ‘The X Factor’.
“’The X Factor’ was a whole different experience than ‘Last Singer Standing’,” Terenure High School Presentation alumnus Janet told The Echo.
“’The X Factor’ was much fuller and there was a lot of talk about yourself, and it wasn’t as much on vocals as I would have liked.
“But it was a great experience to see what it was like to be a working musician.”
Janet has been on “Last Singer Standing” for the past five weeks and has wowed the nation with her singing prowess, while also rejoicing that she can perform for three of her childhood idols.
“I had an NSYNC poster in my locker when I was in school,” she said. “I wanted to be Samantha Mumba when I was growing up and I was obsessed with Nadine Coyle.
“You always want the people you grew up listening to to think you’re a good singer. “
On Saturday night’s show, Janet sang “Respect” by Aretha Franklin, “I’m Outta Love” by Anastacia and “Roar” by Katy Perry. show of the week.
The grand finale of ‘Last Singer Standing’ will air on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player at 8:30 p.m. this Saturday, December 11.
