There’s a new game show in town and comedian Skhumba Hlophe is honing his presenting skills as the host of Saturday showdown.

The radio personality alongside his SuperSport co-host Thato Moeng is set to take over on Saturday night, starting June 4 on DStv channel 161, with a game show offering record prizes.

Saturday Showdown will see five teams, led by celebrities, compete for a grand prize of R3.5 million.

Produced by Red Pepper Pictures, JSaturday Showdown is Entertainment and Games, a fun game show that also gives viewers the chance to win R50,000 every week.

This week begins with the award-winning Makhadzi holding the fort for her team. She shared the news in a post on Instagram.

“The wait is now over, I’m thrilled to let you know that I will be taking part in Mzansi’s biggest game show ever,” she wrote.

Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net, said this show is something to entertain and engage viewers.

“It’s the kind of show that will appeal to viewers of all ages and interests, whether it’s sports or pop. It’s the latest in the hyper-local content strategy we’re putting in place, a evolutionary content and eclectic tastes,” said Adonisi.
